Invitation for ICSE-9 full-text manuscript submission to Thin Solid Films
Dear colleagues and friends,
Thank you for attending the 9th International Conference on Spectroscopic Ellipsometry (ICSE-9).
My name is Shiyuan Liu from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. I am the Program Chair of ICSE-9. Following the tradition of ICSE, I’d like to invite you to submit your ICSE-9 full-text manuscripts for publication in the Elsevier journal Thin Solid Films as a virtual special issue (VSI). It is a well-known journal to our ellipsometry community, and is ready for submission right now. Prof. Linjie Li (Chongqing University), Prof. Zhigao Hu (East China Normal University), and myself are serving as the guest editors.
Here are some guidelines for the manuscript preparation and submission.
1. Important information
- Journal name: Thin Solid Films
- Special Issue title: Proceedings of the 9th International Conference on Spectroscopic Ellipsometry (ICSE-9)
- Start date for submission: May 20, 2022
- Deadline for submission: July 31, 2022
(Manuscripts submitted later than July 31, 2022 will still be considered for publication in this peer-reviewed journal, but perhaps will not appear in the special conference collection.)
2. Manuscript preparation
Prepare your manuscript for the ICSE-9 special issue in the same way as for an ordinary submission to Thin Solid Films. Please carefully read the attached PDF file “Thin Solid Films Author Guideline” for information on article submission, or see the Guide for Authors on the journal webpage:

3. Manuscript submission
Submit your manuscript to Thin Solid Films on the journal submission webpage:
https://www.editorialmanager.com/tsf/default1.aspx
Login in as Author with your Editorial Manager account (if you have no account, register one), then choose “Submit New Manuscript”. At the first step, please select the Article Type of your submission from the drop-down menu as “VSI: ICSE-9”. This is very important!
Please do not forget to upload a cover letter to include your ICSE-9 abstract number. This is to guarantee that only the registered ICSE-9 participants are eligible to submit their full-text manuscripts to the special issue of Thin Solid Films.
4. Manuscript peer-review
All conference paper submissions will be peer-reviewed by the journal and we have no editorial control over which papers get accepted for publication.
The previous 8 conference proceedings (going back nearly 30 years to the Paris conference in 1993) are an important reference source to our ellipsometry community. Please support this tradition with your own ICSE conference manuscript, which will be a resource for a future generation of ellipsometry scientists and practitioners.
